Pros:
They sell local goods
Cons:
I live in a rural area, and despite being the closest option, this pharmacy is still a 1.5-hour round trip on a good day. After moving here, I went in to transfer my prescriptions and was told they weren’t accepting new patients—something neither I nor anyone else, including other pharmacies, had ever heard of. They agreed to fill my prescriptions anyway, but the next month, they made me feel foolish for not understanding what they'd told me before. When I asked if there was another pharmacy in Harlowton, they lied and said no, leading to months of being toyed with and treated poorly.
Every month, despite calling ahead to confirm my prescriptions were ready, I would often arrive to find they hadn’t ordered them or didn’t have enough in stock, forcing me to return empty-handed and make the long trip again later. This wasted so much of my time and money. I stayed polite and understanding, worried that if I upset them, I’d have no choice but to make a half-day trip to a large city for my medication every month. Eventually, I found out there ARE pharmacy options in Harlowton and Townsend and immediately transferred my prescriptions.
I’ve seen multiple reviews praising them for helping with insurance, but that was not my experience at all. When I first moved here, my insurance wasn’t accepted at Castle Mountain, and they offered no assistance in figuring out alternatives. When I found coupons on GoodRx that were specifically for Castle Mountain, they refused to honor them. Now I see they’re no longer listed on GoodRx, but at the time, being told I had to pay hundreds of dollars a month out of pocket or go without was incredibly stressful and honestly heartbreaking.
To make matters worse, the pharmacist is a member of the county stewardship council. Seeing her in public after how she treated me still gives me a lot of anxiety.
I don’t know what I did to deserve the treatment I received here :(
